Frequently Asked Questions What are the lashes made of? The lashes are individual and made of silk. They are very lightweight and look exactly like the natural eyelashes that may fall off onto your pillow etc. All of my lashes are one-and-a -half times the thickness of a natural lash, so they instantly add volume, and they come in different lengths to enable me to provide my clients with a very natural look individual to them and their own natural lash growth pattern. How are they applied? They are individually applied to the clients own lashes with a strong adhesive. The lashes or adhesive are never applied to the skin. During application, gel pads are placed underneath the eye are to protect the lower lashes, and the clients eyes remain closed for the majority of the treatment. How long does it take to have them aplied? The procedure takes around an hour and a half to two hours to complete, and is completely painless, in fact most clients find it exceptionallly relaxing! How long do they last? Once applied, the lashes will last for 2-3 weeks before a top up is required. The adhesive that is used for lash application is very strong, and they don't usually 'fall off' if cared for well. However, the natural life cycle of an eyelash is 6-8 weeks, so they are shed when the lash which they are attatched to naturally falls out. How do I care for my eyelash extensions? Eyelash extensions are lightweight and water resistant, but they do require a little specialist care to ensure you get the maximum results from your treatment. Care must be taken not to rub eyes. Also, any creams, eye makeup removers, lotions, or cleansers containing oils can loosen the bond of the Lash Extensions. Care must be taken to apply eye cream sparingly with avoidance of the lash line area. Can I add mascara to Lash Extensions? Water soluble mascara can be worn; however constant use of mascara may shorten the life-span of your lashes. WATERPROOF MASCARA IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE AS IT WILL DISSOLVE THE BOND WITH THE LASHES. Specialist products for use with eyelash extensions, such as eye make up remover, masacara and sealent are available to buy from myself. Can I perm, tint or curl my eyelash extensions? No! It is recommended that eyelash extensions are not applied to lashes that have been permed as this makes application very difficult and can make the natural lashes brittle, affecting the perfomance of your eyelash extensions. You cannot have them permed after application of your enhancements You can have your eyelashes tinted prior to aplication of extensions, and for clients with exceptionally fair lashes this is recommended. It is not recommended however to have your lashes tinted after application of your enhancements. Your new eyelash extensions will darken, lenghten and thicken you lashes, removing the need to have them tinted. It is also not recommended to use manual or heated eyelash curlers. Any of the above procedures will dramatically affect the performance of your semi-permanent eyelash extensions and the length of time which they remain looking at their best. How much does it cost? £60 for initial application of a full set £30 for top up applications (approx 45 mins to an hour) A 'top up' must be within 3 weeks of initial application.
